Watercolor

Exploration in Watercolor—with Robin Poteet
5 classes: Wednesdays, March 27–May 1 (No class April 24) • Morning session: 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. • Afternoon session: 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. • $180
Watercolor is part technique, part magic, part planning and part letting go! This session is for anyone that wants to build on their general watercolor knowledge while exploring something different each week such as copying a master, pouring a background, focusing on value and color or zeroing in on detail. Robin starts each week with a demo and talk. Some weeks there are slide shows or group exercises—always, there is ample time everyone to paint from their own subjects with individual attention as Robin circulates the room. Use the form at left to contact Robin with questions.register_button

Beginners—Welcome to Watercolor!—with Robin Poteet
4 classes: Saturdays, March 30 and April 6, 13, 20 • 9:00 a.m.–Noon • $165
Is learning to paint on your bucket list? Watercolor can be explored and enjoyed at any age, so why not see if this sparks a new hobby or passion? This portable and expressive media is ideal for travel journals as well as large, richly detailed paintings. Your class will be packed with demos, discussions and exercises and over the course of 4 weeks you’ll gain an understanding of materials, washes, color mixing and technique, PLUS, you’ll complete paintings each week. It’s All About Peacocks!—with Robin Poteet
For all levels of painters in all water media • 2 classes: Friday and Saturday, June 7 & 8 • 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. • $95 (includes a variety of papers and mounting mediums)
Ready to have some fun?! Bring your paints (watercolor and/or acrylic, color pencils, plus, whatever else you want to use).There will be stations set up and Robin will supply materials for collage, watercolor & wax and masa paper. Come prepared for two hands-on days to explore this colorful, fun subject! Robin will email photos prior to class, or bring your own. Full Sheet Watercolors. Taming the Fear!—with Robin Poteet
3 classes: Wednesday–Friday July 10, 11, & 12 • 9:00 a.m.–Noon • $120 (Includes a full sheet of watercolor paper)
If working large is outside your comfort zone, Robin is determined to change that! This three-day class shows just how it fun and freeing it can be to paint on a full sheet of watercolor paper. Big, bold brushstrokes, drips, washes and paint that is occasionally applied with abandon.
