Patricia Kapral
Patricia Kapral is an artist living and working in Roanoke, Va. She holds a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has taught both in private and public schools for almost 30 years. She currently teaches children’s art classes at Studio School Roanoke, and has several private art students. She has been recognized nationally for her excellence in teaching, and won national awards from Scholastic Art. She currently has a studio at Left of Center Art Space in Roanoke.
Her work explores light and its transformative power, specializing in acrylic and oil pastel, but also loves to work in mixed media and water soluble oils. Her artistic approach allows for both realistic detail and expressive interpretation, reflecting the nuances of light, whether dancing on water’s surface, filtered through branches, or the subtle glow on a cheek. Her works are in collections both locally and internationally.
